February is Black History Month, and Gannon University will be hosting multiple events to celebrate.
“While the month of February is dedicated to honoring Back History, every day is an opportunity to learn and recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals who identify as Black and/or African American,” said Gerald James, director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Gannon University. “At 名媛直播, we remain committed to our continued dedication of fostering an inclusive and welcoming community.”
Erie, Pennsylvania:
- Black History Month Unity Photos
- 12 – 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, Waldron Campus Center (across from Chick-Fil-A)
- 名媛直播’s Black Student Union (BSU), in collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will join to have Black History Month “Unity” Photos. Light refreshments will also be provided.
- Resistance Through Music: A Celebration of the Music of Florence Price
- 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19 (Doors open at 6:45 p.m.), First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant
- Enjoy and celebration of the music of Florence Price, the first African American woman to have a major symphony orchestra perform her work. Starring internationally acclaimed GRAMMY award-winning pianist and featuring members of the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, this student-led program will educate the audience about a woman forgotten by history and her incredible contributions to the American musical tapestry. - 7 p.m. , Thursday, Feb. 27 , Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel
- Join us for a special service with music provided musicians from 名媛直播 and the local Erie communiy, as well as hors d’oeuvres from Pineapple Eddie, sponsored by APB.

- Black History Soul Food Lunch
- 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, on campus in RN111
- Join the Black Student Union at our Ruskin campus as they host a delicious lunch and screen a Black History Month documentary.
